< style="TEXT-INDENT: 2em">第一届Gumball拉力赛举办于1999年，创始人是英国企业家-马克西米利安-库柏。他的灵感来自于美国影片《炮弹飞车》。马克西米利安-库柏创立GUMBALL3000时，只是为了和他的一些同样酷爱豪车的富豪以及明星朋友们做一次挑战赛。他设计了一条环绕欧洲的路线，从英国伦敦出发至意大利黎密尼后再返回伦敦，长度为三千英里。六天的赛程，环绕欧洲，跨越八个国家，涵盖五条格兰披治赛道。白天在国家高速公路上驾驶价值千万的超级跑车忘情狂飚，夜晚回到下榻的豪华酒店举办疯狂派对。</P>
